The BCRT

The Berlin Centre for Travel & Tropical Medicine, also known as the BCRT, is a privately run tropical institute which offers medical advice before and after travel.

We have developed a globally unique, practical concept of travel medicine advice: our travel practices are located in outdoor equipment stores. There you can get advice before your trip and also have a vaccination at the same time.

In addition, in our outpatient department in Berlin, we offer specialised infectious diseases consultation which is visited by patients from all of Europe. There we also carry out numerous clinical studies. In the area of vaccination studies the BCRT is one of the largest clinical test centres in Germany.

COVID-19 – Vaccinations and other Services

Needless to say, the topic of COVID-19 is currently a focus at the BCRT as well. For more detailed information i.e. about services, please select from the following topics:

COVID vaccinations in the travel clinics

We offer vaccinations against COVID-19 in the travel clinics Hamburg, Berlin-Steglitz, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Munich (each in the premises of Globetrotter Ausrüstung). Here is some general information:

  • We vaccinate primarily with Spikevax from Moderna.
  • Vaccination offer is only valid as long as vaccine is in stock.
  • No appointments possible – first come, first served.
  • Admission stop is possible if it is foreseeable that we will not be able to supply any more customers until store closes.
  • Due to 2G access restriction to the Globetrotter stores, only booster vaccinations can be offered at this moment.
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 is free of charge for you.
  • For vaccinations of children under 12 years of age, we require the signatures of all legal guardians.
  • The vaccination offer comes exclusively from the travel clinic – Globetrotter is not involved in this and cannot answer any questions in this regard.

Please note: in the travel practices Dresden, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf we are currently not able to offer vaccinations against COVID-19. In the head office in Berlin Mitte, COVID vaccinations are only available by appointment!
